Terms of use
Quantum's code is open source under the MIT License. The Quantum community server at quantumsc.org is a separate, free service run by Quantum's developer. These are the rules for using it.
Who can use the server
- An account is required. Sending anything to the server (prices, pictures, positions, alignments, jobs, messages, listings, org changes) needs a Quantum account with your UEX name linked. One person, one account.
- Official releases only. Only unmodified releases of Quantum downloaded from
Quantum's GitHub releases may connect to the server. Modified copies, forks and other
programs must not connect to it, and may be refused automatically. The MIT License lets you change and share Quantum's code; it gives no
right to use this server. If you build your own version, point it at your own server (the
community_urlsetting) or turn community features off. - No scraping or automated access. Don't copy the server's data in bulk, call its API from your own scripts or apps, or get around its limits, without written permission. If you'd like to build something on it, open an issue on Quantum's GitHub page.
What you share
Share only what's true and yours to share: real prices you saw, your own screenshots and pictures, positions you measured. Don't submit made-up or copied data to climb the leaderboard, and don't use the marketplace for real-money trades, which break Star Citizen's Terms of Service.
Keeping it safe
The server checks which build of Quantum is connecting and keeps a short record of it (see Privacy). Reports, pictures and positions can be reviewed, rejected or removed. Accounts that break these rules can be suspended or banned, and builds that break them can be blocked.
No guarantee
The server is free and provided as is. It can be down, changed or ended at any time, and the data on it can be wrong or out of date. Quantum is a fan project, not affiliated with or endorsed by Cloud Imperium Games.
